Review Enlistment Application
- Check the reactions for the application to ensure that the applicant hasn’t already been processed.
- Review the answers to the questions.
- Reject the application if the recruit is under 18.
- If an application is rejected for any reason, proceed to the next step and remove the -RCT-, Serviceman, and 2nd Armored roles from the applicant.
- If the name is too long or they select an invalid branch (Aviation but they’re signing up for HLL) message them to get an appropriate response before proceeding.
- Reject the application if the recruit is under 18.
Set Username and Roles on Discord
- Find the new recruit in Discord by going to Unit Chat and look for someone without a rank tag.
- Right-Click on the recruit and assign the appropriate roles:
- 2nd Armored, Serviceman, and -RCT- will be pre-selected by the Dyno bot as part of the application process.
- Select the appropriate Brigade role
- Select the appropriate Battalion role
- Once roles have been assigned, click Change Nickname and set their username to
𝆣 RCT 𝆣 Name
based on their requested username.
Create Personnel File in SAPPER
- Create the new recruit’s personnel file in SAPPER. Instructions can be found in the Personnel File Management Manual.
- The Division Quartermasters will backfill the personnel file with a uniform and awards (if applicable) later.
- If the application lists a recruiter by name (up to 2 members) then go into those people’s personnel files and award them with a recruitment credit
- Under the “members recruited” section, list the date and name of the person recruited, and increase the counter by 1.
Mark Application as Complete
- React to the enlistment application you just processed with the 2nd Armored Logo
as seen in the above application.
Message the new Recruit
Now that the paperwork is complete, let’s turn our attention to the most important part of the enlistment process, the new recruit themselves. Too often we have someone some to the Discord, fill out an application, then leave shortly after because nobody did anything to welcome them or acknowledge their presence. As such, we are implementing this welcoming step to the application checklist which will be supplemented with brigade-specific instructions as those procedures are developed.
- @ mention the new recruit in Mess Hall and welcome them to the unit.
- This serves two purposes. First, we publicly acknowledge their acceptance into the unit in public chat getting engagement from them and possibly spurring other potential recruits to fill out an application themselves.
- Send the new recruit a brief welcome message via DM.
- This adds a personal touch to the enlistment process and lets them know that we have a leadership team that cares about each member in the unit. It doesn’t need to be a giant canned message, just a quick welcome to the unit.
This concludes the required steps to process a successful enlistment application.
